Synopsis for Ruby’s Saturn Return
 
Beautiful, exotic, Ruby Bontecou gets forewarned, by an astrologer, that her charmed life as a liberal artist in gorgeous Charleston, is about to go topsy-turvy as she is entering her ‘Saturn Return’. Completely disregarding this premonition, life carries on for Ruby and her close-knit group of quirky friends. Then she meets Peter Jefferson. The young Republican and the bohemian beauty are caught unawares at the uncontrollable passion they share for one another. Their torrid and all-consuming love seems like it was written in the stars. When Ruby falls pregnant, all hell breaks loose in an ideological battle that pits them against each other with one of today’s most controversial issues.
 
This is a general breakdown of where we are & what we'd like:
 
So far we've cast the supporting roles, Jennie will be played by Anna Silk who is starring in a pilot this season and  who we have every reason to believe will be a big star. She
was nominated 2 days ago for Gemini in Canada. We've also cast a Seth Rogen type comic actor to play Theo & he is an up & coming stand up comic in LA. We have a decent shot at getting James "Badge" Dale  (who is in  HBO mini series coming out this autumn) to play Peter, the male lead. And we'd like to get someone great for Ruby, the lead.
For RUBY:  Rashida Jones type: It's an intense quirky role that requires serious talent. Ideal would be a strong gorgeous Ruby with the pathos required for the intense tricky scenes.
 
And for Peter, besides Badge, Timothy Olyphant type, who would be wonderful as a kind of sly bad boy version of a straight laced uptight Republican lawyer w/ a sardonic sense of humor.
 
And Andie Macdowell  type for as Cat, Peter's mother, because she is beautiful, sassy, sexy, Southern. In short ideal for the best part in the film.
 
We've got an ace team behind the camera. A fantastic DP, Ryan Purvis (who's father won an Oscar for his camera work) and an accomplished production designer, Fyiral Richmond, who was just on the set of "The Bachelor" in Hawaii doing similar work.
 
Michael Giancana is the producer & line producer & sound mixer, etc for us & he just finished co-producing w/ Billy Dentson (consultant on our film & director w/ 6 pix deal w/ Screen Gems) the Flo Rida (#1 on billboard charts) video.
 
Warren Peterson is doing post-production for us, sound mixing, etc. & he did that for "The Bodyguard".
Our director is Marlida Ferreira & our AD is accomplished filmmaker John Temou, who works mostly on projects in Toronto. Our executive producer is Kweku Mandela. 

We feel strongly this is going to be a great project. We are going to commence shooting on Nov. 1-21st. We'll be in Charleston for most of October doing pre-production.
